DIY Cookie Kits for the Holidays

DIY Cookie Kits, Holiday Pet Style! These cookie kits will be made by Baked by Beth here in Shelbyville, Indiana. You will receive a Baker’s Dozen of the cookies with one special “bone” cookie for you and your family to decorate. Icing and sprinkles will be provided! The cost for the kit is $15 for 13 cookies, icing and sprinkles to decorate with and with profits going to the pets at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter Pets~!! 🐾❤🥰 Kits will be available for pick up the weekend of December 18th, please pre-order your kits now and support the -pets! 2020 Pet Photo Contest/ Online Auction/Paw print ornaments

The Pet Photo Contest is open! You can still participate by entering your photo! You can also vote for all of your favorite photos once every 12 hours per IP address.

We have some online auction items being auctioned off on our Facebook 4thepets.org page! So far we have had some fun items, a Halloween wreath, an adorable photo frame, a gift basket with goodies and much more to come! Please join us on Facebook to participate!

This Saturday October 24th, we will be selling Paw Print Ornaments, they are personalized for you and your pet. It’s a $5 donation with all donations going to the pets at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter. You can bring your pet, we will help you get the paw print and you can either leave it for baking or you can take it and bake it yourself. We will provide instructions for baking, decorating etc. Or you can come and pick one up to take and do it yourself at home with your pet. We will be at Pet Valu Pet Store in Shelbyville from 12:30 to 2 for the ornaments! You can reserve one for you and your pet or just stop by as we will have some extras on hand as well!

Photo Contest Voting Opens 10/21/2020

You can vote once every 12 hours for the photo of your choice, it’s tracked by your IP address for voting purposes. Your family, friends, co-workers and such can vote too. So please share your photos on social media and email, etc so you can get votes for your favorite photos! Photo submissions are still being accepted as well as we have some online auctions happening on our Facebook page 4thepets.org so join us and help support the pets at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter. The Pet Photo Contest is OPEN!!

Here’s how to enter

  1. Submit your donation, see previous post for the options – Eventbrite, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, and cash or check.
  2. Upload your photo on our 2020 pet photo contest page – be sure to downsize your photo to 2MB or less – there’s a link to do that, if you need assistance let us know and we will do our best to help you, there’s also rules and info for your review. It’s loading EASIER when it’s 1MB or less to the website, it will load faster and not bog down the webpage.
  3. Voting opens on 10/21/2020, photos will be released here on the website and you will be able to share your photos! I will also post links and photos on the Facebook page for people to share from there as well, so feel free to invite friends to the event on Facebook.
  4. After the contest ends, the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter staff will also choose one photo for Shelter’s Choice and all prizes will be awarded! Even if you don’t live in Shelbyville or Shelby County you can still enter! We will mail your prize to you!

Pet Photo Opportunity

Thank you to all who made appointments and came out for the pet photo opp! It was great fun to capture the photos of the pets at Sunset Park this last weekend! The donations total was over $300! We will be emailing your photos to you this week for your review and perhaps there will be one you can enter in the upcoming Pet Photo Contest!

2020 Photo Contest

This year we will be doing an online photo contest to help support the pets at the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter. For the last 5 years we have been doing the Pet Costume Contest and the Zombie Run, but due to the current situation in our world we decided it would be best to postpone those events for now. However, that being said we are EXCITED to hold an online photo contest as well as some other goodies to go along with it. Details to be released shortly!!

Pet Costume Contest Oct 4th

Who Let the Creatures Out Pet Costume Contest this Friday! We are looking forward to seeing you at the costume contest! The contest will be held at First Friday downtown Shelbyville at 151 W Washington Street ( Farmer’s Market Parking Lot). Registration starts at 6 pm and the event begins at 6:30 pm. October is quickly approaching!

We are super excited about the upcoming events for October!  We hope you will join us this year at the Who Let the Creatures Out Pet Costume Contest and the Run From Zombies 5K Fun Run this year!  Please see the respective pages for more details!

It’s 2019 Event Time!

We have had a wonderful time planning events for this year and we are already half way through the year! We are super stoked about the upcoming events for this year which include the Shelby County Fair, the Get Healthy Shelby County Dog Walk, the 5th Annual Who let the Creatures Out Pet Costume Contest and the 5th Annual Zombie Run! Plus we will be having another Paint Your Pet Class and Photos with Santa! All that to come before the end of the year! Plus I know the shelter will be having a party sometime soon and the annual Haunted Trails of course!

We look forward to seeing you at these events and more!!
